Just a couple of observations about the assignments you have completed up to this point. You can check your own work to see if you have made any mistakes based on these points:
CHOOSE - Many of you have tried to use the word "choose" unsuccessfully. Remember, the act of choosing is something that is finished once you HAVE CHOSEN. Therefore, it is more likely that you CHOSE an activity, and then performed it, so you would need to use the past tense (CHOSE).
WORD ORDER - This is something that is difficult for Italians because it is different from your language. Try to remember to put the subject BEFORE the verb, and you should be ok. For example,"An interesting article appeared..." NOT "Appeared and interesting article...".
In addition, you should write "I found X (to be) interesting" and "I consider X (to be)important" because you have to say WHAT the verb is referring to. If you put the adjective before the noun in this last case, then you are saying that you only consider the "important Xs" - not the "unimportant" ones! Think of it this way: First you have to establish what you are talking about, and then you can give your opinion of it!
PREPOSITIONS: looking AT, listening TO (don't leave it out!), learning ABOUT, etc.
CAPITAL LETTERS: I not i (this is an English class - no internet shortcuts allowed!)
FOR vs. TO for reasons why: Why did you go to Rome? TO see (verb) a friend, or FOR a vacation (noun).
OTHER MISTAKES: Instead of writing "speaks about" (or "spiks" about - Aaaargh!)try using other words like "outlines" or "explores" or "delineates". Also, there is a big difference between "more difficult" (than what?) and "very difficult".
Your task is to find your own mistakes, and send the corrections to me in your comments on this assignment. If you need any help, I will be in Portici every Wednesday from 1 to 4.30 p.m. and on Thursdays from 9 to 4.30. Come and see me if you want me to go over your work!

Hi Teacher!
As you told me I have found in my Assignments some mistakes.
In Assignment 2 :
I wrote: “I have done also” = I have also done , is the correct form.
In Assignment 3:
I wrote: “I have chosed and listened” = I have chosen and listening to, is the correct form.
I wrote: “the some problems”= some problems without the, is the correct form.
But now I rewrite the sentence in the correct form: this conversation was very interesting for me because I can notice some of these problems also exist in Italian University.
I hope not to make the same mistakes again in the future.
Bye Bye!
Excellent work, Maria Rosaria!
You have done exactly what I asked. Just a couple of little corrections:
"I chose and listened to" is the correct form, because the actions you are describing are completely finished. Also, when you are speaking about a category in general, use the plural form: "Italian universities" for example. Keep up the good work!
I think I made just one mistake: I wrote it in capital letters.
A few days ago, precisily 17 days ago, on foodconsumer.org’s website, AN INTERESTING ARTICLE APPEARD: American people have, in their body, also the phthalates and polybrominated diphenyl ethers. The scientists carried out a test on 35 American persons that come from seven countries. Among them, there are: Alaska, Massashusets, Connecticut and Illinois. In all American peolpe, the phthalates and polybrominated diphenyl ethers are present. These compunds stay in daily and very common items, like: baby bottles, shower curtains, TVs, computers, cosmetics. The researchers confirm this compuonds contribute to cancer, birth defectes and several others problems. The seven states want regulate that compounds use and they want to find a solutions for this problem. I think we’ve joked enough with our body and with our health. Now, we have to inform people about the risk they are exhibit, so they can choose the safety and the health.

Dear Davide,
Good for you - you found one of the mistakes you made, which is a good start. However, there are a couple of spelling errors, probably due to your tendency to do everything as fast as possible: appeared, people and defects, for example.
Another thing to watch out for is the difference between THIS (singular) and THESE (plural). There is also a difference in the pronunciation (smile when you have more than one!)
Also, JOKE and PLAY are two commonly confused words. Take a look at your dictionary to see the difference...
Good morning Teacher!!
As you told me, I have found in my works same mistakes!
In Assignment2, I wrote “I have found fifteen word of eighteen, but the correct form is “I have found fifteen words of eighteen”.
In Assignment3, I saw that I have written “spiks and not speaks”, but I have done this error for my distraction! Also I can write “This topic explores a particular theorie, the mental processes that drive behaviour”.
Excuse me if there are other mistakes in my works that I didn’t see!!
Bye Bye
Dear Teacher,
I red again my works for the first three assignments.
I was not able to find mistakes about the grammar rules you specified in your observations. I don’t think there are no mistakes, probably I can’t see them!
But in the last work, for the assignment number 3, I found some unpleasant and stupid mistakes: I wrote “theacher”, getting wrong about the spelling, and I forgot the “s” for the third person when I said “a theacher explain”.
I also wrote “the habits of the American students”, but now I think I wouldn’t use the article “the” before a plural form. Therefore, the correct sentence would be "the habits of American students". Is it right?
Thank you and goodbye.
ML
Dear Simona,
Good job. However, don't forget to check your spelling: for example, same/some, and theory is the singular form; theories is the plural. Also, we all MAKE mistakes, we don't DO them. You word order also needs some work: You should have written: "I have found some mistakes in my work." Slow down a bit, and I think you will be fine.
Dear Maria Laura,
You are right, some of your mistakes were not mentioned in assignment about grammar and usage, but you did catch the ones I wanted - good for you!
However, let's look at your answer to the second assignment. I will put corrections in capital letters:
"I chose vocabulary activities about food and restaurantS (this is my field of interest!). I tried to do A crossword and A wordsearch PUZZLE. At first, I found some trouble COMPLETING the activities within the time (ELIMINATE THE WORD "IS") granted me...FINALLY, I can say I'm satisfied because I've learned some words I didn't know, SUCH as napkin. There are some words I didn't remember, SUCH as spoon, but now I'm sure I WILL NEVER forget them (ELIMINATE THE WORD ANYMORE) :)
Keep up the good work!
Hi Teacher!
I have found in my Assignments some mistakes:
In Assignment 2:
I wrote lots of times "i" (first person) instead of "I";
I wrote "list of the vocabulary activities" instead of "list of vocabulary activities" (I didn't have to use "the" before a plural form);
I wrote "to" instead of "too";
I wrote "for the students" instead of "for students" (I didn't have to use "the" before a plural form);
In Assignment 3:
I wrote "I have chosed" instead of "I chose";
I wrote "tobic" instead of "topic";
I wrote "It take the name" instead of "It takes the name";
I wrote "El Niños", but that's a singular word, so I had to write "El Niño";
I wrote "but it is possible see", but I think that a better form would be "we can see";
I wrote "more difficult", but the correct form is "very difficult".
I hope I found all my mistakes!
Bye bye!

Dear teacher
I have observed all my works and I have seen some mistakes based on the points you told us:
In the Assignement 3 I wrote I have listened the conversation while the correct form is I have listened to the
In the Assignement 2 I wrote I choose the link and the correct form had to be I chose the link because the action was in the past and it needed to use the past tense
I think that there arent any other mistakes.
Thank you!Bye!

dear teacher I've read again my previous assignement and I've found the following mistakes:"choosen"=chosen
"into man"=into a man
Ilario
I was sure, when I was writing, to make some mistakes. So I took my old English grammar’s book and studied some grammar rules.
These are errors that I found.
I wrote “I found a link to MyPyramid Plan”…I had to write “I found the link to MyPyramid Plan”
I wrote “Converted the weight it’s easy”… I had to write “To convert weight it’s easy” so I did a double error.
I wrote “I tried to play with sport crossword before and”… I had to write “First, I tried to play with sport crossword and”.
I wrote “Then I played with food crossword: it’s easier and”… I had to write “Then I played with food crossword: it’s easier than previous ones and”.
